Little Oxhey Farm does not appear in the 1872 sale of the Oxhey estate. The map of the mid-1890s names it on Little Oxhey Lane, just west of the railway, and in 1935 its buildings stood on the south side of the lane. It was listed in the London County Council's 1943 compulsory purchase order, which the government confirmed in September 1944. The estate's first library, from 1951 to 1962, was very probably in its old farmhouse, which Our Oxhey places on Little Oxhey Lane. A woman who grew up next door remembers bulls tethered to its back wall, a cattle bridge to the field and cows looking in at the back door. She also remembers a cottage opposite, later pulled down, where flats for older people were built. A reader of Our Oxhey says the farmhouse was pulled down after the library moved out, to make the road up to a new swimming pool.4,20,21,22,98,125,176,244,254,291,299,392,600,601
Now
The Sir James Altham Pool, built close by, was officially opened on 8 June 1979. It closed in 2020 and did not reopen. In August 2024 the county council approved an adult day centre on the former Sir James Altham school site, and extra care homes have been proposed for the pool's land. The farm buildings stood about where Lytham Avenue now joins Little Oxhey Lane.
