Then
A black wooden workmen's hut on Oxhey Drive, near Oxhey Wood Junior School, became the estate's community centre and was known locally as the Cow Shed. By October 1956 it was the address of the South Oxhey Times. Residents remember dances and live music there, and a local singer performing, though for teenagers there was little else beyond the ice cream parlour. The wooden building burned down and a block building took its place, used as the Fayer Hall scout hut.5,131,150,166,233,492
Now
Fayer Hall was demolished in March 2017 to make room for the car sales and repair company moving out of the corner of Station Approach, which was on the site by December 2017. A new scout hut had been built near the Pavilion on the playing fields by then. The position on Oxhey Drive is approximate.
