Then

In November 1947 the first tenants, a couple from Paddington, were given the keys to a Hayling Road house with three bedrooms and a kitchen big enough to eat in. A walnut tree said to have been planted at the request of Mrs Blackwell, of the family that owned the Oxhey estate before the council, stood by the road until high winds brought it down in March 1999.5,13,23,24,31,527

Now

Hayling Road still runs along the southern edge of the playing fields, with several entrances to them from the road.
