Then
Nanscott House was a block of flats in Prestwick Road, next to the Methodist church of 1953. In January 2011 its tenants were looking forward to moving into new homes being built beside Clitheroe Gardens. By March 2011 Lovell had been chosen to build the first phase of a redevelopment at Clitheroe Gardens, a site holding sheltered housing, the Clitheroe Club and the Methodist church. That phase was to be a £1.5 million scheme for Sanctuary Group, with twelve flats and two bungalows for affordable rent. A second phase was to bring eight flats, a new community centre and a new church, and a third phase 23 flats. Demolition of the block began in August 2011.5,38,145,191,210,215,216,307,641,642
Now
The last of the old Methodist church came down on 17 October 2013, and the new one a few yards away opened in January 2014. New residents moved into Beck Mason House, built as part of the same scheme next to the new Methodist church, in May 2015. The building work in Clitheroe Gardens and Prestwick Road was finished that spring. Both names match old woods on the Oxhey Place estate, Nanscot Wood and Beck Mason's Wood, though no source we found says the blocks were named after them. The two woods are still part of Oxhey Woods, one on each side of Prestwick Road. The position is approximate.
