How sure we are of the match: Possible
The estate's streets were named after golf courses. The streets page explains how each match was made.
In the story
- The old woods: Pond Wood and the smaller woods
Pond Wood, at Northwick Road and Seacroft Gardens, was a plot of the Oxhey Place farm in 1872, beside a large pond called Park Pond. - Schools: Oxhey Wood
The school crossing patrol at the Northwick Road entrance served for over thirty years, and a former pupil remembers the school emblem of the early 1980s as a grey squirrel. - Pond Wood
Pond Wood is a small wood at Northwick Road and Seacroft Gardens, known for old pollarded hornbeams that were still being cut in the estate's early years. - Clarendon School (site)
The day centre on Northwick Road uses buildings that were once part of the school, and another part was used for years by the Industrial Therapy Organisation.
